"Essence of Christmas"

Christmas is a sacred season when the hardened heart of man softens and shows love. It is the happiest day in the whole year, the finest day to rejoice and the coolest day of merry making. It is a time to remember in a very special way our families, relatives and friends.
Too much materialism in the world has diminished the real essence of Christmas: that of the coming of God our Father’s Son, Jesus Christ, into our world to save it from sinfulness and shame. Materials are not important to us, I mean these are not pertaining to tple value that makes relationships last longer and become smooths true essence of Christmas.  For me, Christmas is about love. Love conquers all. It conquers gift-giving and others. Gift- giving is an expression of one's love for others. It can also be a sign of one's gratitude or appreciation for the favor done. Be it an expression of love or gratitude, it is something pore. Christmas is also about caring another over yourself, spending the time to do the little things to make the holiday special for loved ones.
Let us give love to each other even though its not Christmas. Love our neighbors as we love ourselves.

"Make a Difference"

Every one of us is put in this world to contribute and make a difference to the world in our own unique way. It need not be anything out of the world. It just needs to be something you do with the intention of ‘doing good’.
Making a difference to the world may seem like an enormous task, but it is in fact the collective effort of everyone to make small contributions with a lot of heart. There is no one best time to start to make a difference to the world. We don’t need to wait till we have the time to share what we have now. Little efforts count, and we can start making small contributions today. We can change the world by helping one person at a time. One of the ways to help someone is to empower the person be being generous in giving praise and encouragement instead of criticism.  The best way to convince other people to make a difference is to lead and start doing whatever ability we have today..
Every effort counts, no matter how small and insignificant it may seem. Just do something, and do something good. We must work together for the betterment of our country.

"Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities"

“Never may an act of possession be exercised upon a free being; the exclusive possession of a woman is no less unjust than the possession of slaves; all men are born free, all have equal rights: never should we lose sight of those principles; according to which never may there be granted to one sex the legitimate right to lay monopolizing hands upon the other, and never may one of the sexes, or classes, arbitrarily possess the other.”

Men and women must realize their respective equal roles and strive to complement each other in their shared struggle to improve life. In order to correct the abuse of male dominance, men must concentrate on using their dominant qualities for the good. They must use their strength to protect and preserve the feminine character, helping women realize their true potential in revealing  G-dliness, which the world so desperately needs today.
The essence of the equality of opportunity is a stipulation that all people should be treated similarly. If men can, why can't girls?Without due attention to gender equality, health services, programmes, laws and policies will have limited effects. Women and men will not achieve their full health potential over the life-course. If there is equal rights, there is an equal opportunities for the peace and progress in all the countries in the world.

Climate Change

Climate change is a significant and lasting change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns over periods. It may be a change in average weather conditions.
Climate change is a tangible problem and its existence can no longer be denied. It is one of the current crisis the world is experiencing today. Although it would be self-deception to believe that humans had nothing to do with it, the fact is that human activities caused negative effects on climate change. Since climate change is a global issue, all countries must be involved. The best solution is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions on global level. In order to reduce carbon dioxide emissions on global level, world will need to make a rapid transition to clean, renewable energy. World also needs to stop deforestation. Forest, specially rain-forests, absorbs large quantities of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. In fact our forests and together with the oceans is the largest carbon sinkers.
Climate change is really one of the major issue that will test the unity of this world. So let us now make an action!!

Reflection

Information and Communication Technology or ICT subject is an interesting subject . It focuses on how to manipulate computers, how to communicate to people even in other countries, and many more. I learned a lot on this subject and I enjoyed all the activities like tagging. These activities gave me different thoughts that I may use or apply to my future. I hope next grading period, I will learn more about computers.

"CHEMERGY: Chemistry and Science Club in Synergy"

This year’s NSCM aims to provide a venue for learning science, technology, and environment outside the four walls of the classroom; foster camaraderie and develop leadership skills among the science clubbers; and encourage active participation of students and teachers in the Science Clubbing Movement.
Chemistry has a reputation for being a complicated and boring science, but for the most part, that reputation is undeserved. Fireworks and explosions are based on Chemistry so it’s definitely not a boring science. But it is one of the hated subjects in high school because this field of knowledge uses an almost entirely different kind of language. It takes determination and real, ardent desire to learn. I admit it, not everybody can love Chemistry as it is. So what now? Do we just resort back to the old attitude towards Chemistry? Of course not. We need to incorporate with something enjoyed by people. A harmony between Chemistry and science clubbing or as the theme puts it, CHEMERGY. By synergy, it is meant that together, Chemistry and science clubbing can do something that they cannot do when they’re separate. And this something, I believe is changing the world. But how? Chemistry is one field in science that’s very useful in almost all fields of development. If you wished to create a new type of plastic, chemistry would be highly important. Without chemistry, there would be no chemicals and no chemical bonds. Without it, we’d be a pool of constituent elements and not able to ask daft questions.
The compatibility of science clubbing and chemistry will be the start of inculcating love for chemistry than during the early learning years from now. While having fun, people can learn the wonders of this field. And while learning, they can well be passing the way for better advancement and a brighter future.

" My Teacher, My Hero "

If one adheres to the dictionary definition of "hero," hero is a man of distinguished courage or ability admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. But if one were to go by opinion, the qualities and traits that a hero must possess vary from person to person.
My teacher is my hero. My teacher is a dynamic force that motivates everyone to become a responsible and productive citizen. In my opinion, hero is someone who would start a ripple of change. The common qualities attributed to my hero have determination, courage, dedication, selfless and perseverance. My hero is understanding. She advises and cares for us students. Our second parents, our teachers have helped a lot in the contribution for our success. What could be in school if there were no teachers? In fact, there would be no students. Students will not able to go to school and learn what we supposed to learn. Teachers are very important in our society. Because of them, we were able to learn and understand things easier and quicker. Without them, there would be no doctors, lawyers, accountants etc. Lectures, projects, quizzes, assignments and also games, these were some things we do in school. Those memories when they came about to tell stories and that jokes with us students. Those sermons to us during times when we were disobedient. It's their continuous patience and hard works for us made them a heroes.

Education is one of the greatest gift mankind can ever receive. The role played by our teachers become very significant since they are considered as one of the nation builders. Because of their teachings, a lot of people have reached and accomplished their goals in life.

"Modern Day Hero"

There are countless definitions of hero in our world today. Is it a superstar used his fame and fortune to help the needy of his hometown? Is it a firefighter who sees no danger in all circumstances just to save people?
Everyone in the world has different opinion about what a hero is. For me, a hero is someone who is willing to put a hundred percent effort into protecting you from pain. They will stop at nothing to provide you with the security of safety and will share you the knowledge required for survival. A hero doesn't have to have impeccable character, high importance in society or have classic sandwich named after them in the local publication. A hero just needs to be someone who cares for your happiness and loves you for being yourself that's why I call my mother as my hero. As my hero, she comforted me when I was in pain and when I needed her most. She was able to provide me with the sense of security giving me the confidence that everything would be alright. My mother is a hero not because of what she offers to the world but what she offers to me. She makes me feel like I am the most important person in the world. I know that she would drop anything in the world if it meant protecting from being hurt.
My mother is very important to me. She is always there for me through everything possible. She has formed me into the person I am today. Without her help, I honestly believe that I wouldn't be strong, focused and caring individual.

SONA of Pres. Benigno Aquino

President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III delivered his second State of the Nation Address (SONA) speech live 4pm last  July 25, 2011, from Batasang Pambansa Complex, Quezon City before the Congress. Thousands of spectators who attended his SONA and millions of Filipino people watching over their homes and abroad.
On the start of his speech, PNoy mentioned his previous vow during his inauguration, “Walang wang-wang sa ating administrasyon.”  Apparently, President Noynoy Aquino refers “wang-wang” as graft and corruption, abuse of power, and other illegal activities of some government officials and even from the private sector. The president received applause from the audience but the loudest was when he announced the appointment of former Supreme Court Justice Conchita Carpio-Morales as the new Ombudsman. Meanwhile, PNoy thanked his cabinet members for all the support they have provided for the projects of the government agencies, as well as the Congress for approving the budget.
SONA is very important tool to the betterment of our country. I know that President Benigno Simeon Aquino will do his best for the progress of our society.

"Isulong ang Breastfeeding: Tama, Sapat at EKsklusibo"

Every year, in the month of July, the whole nation observes the Nutrition Month. The theme for the 2011 Nutrition Month Is "Isulong ang Breastfeeding- Tama, Sapat at EKsklusibo." The theme focuses on key messages to ensure successful breastfeeding practices.
Breastfeeding is the feeding of an infant or young child with breast milk from female human breasts rather than from a baby bottle or the container. Human breast milk is the healthiest form of milk for babies. But there are few exceptions such as when the mother is taking certain drugs or is infected with human. Not all the properties of breast milk are understood, but its nutrient content is relatively stable. Breast milk is made from nutrients in the mother's bloodstream and bodily stores. Breast milk has just the right amount of fat, sugar, water and protein that is needed for a babies growth and development. The protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding rank among the most effective interventions to improve child's survival. Breastfeeding not only saves babies from death, but also provides long-term benefits. Breastfeed babies do better in school cognitive tests.
The objective of this year's nutrition month celebration is to encourage all sectors of society to help promote, protect and support breastfeeding practices because there is nothing greater than for a mother to nurture her beloved child straight from her bosom.

Dear Mr. President,
        Good day sir!
Most of the school in our country lacks in school supplies or teaching facilities so, I made this letter. Sir, I would like you to address our needs as a student specially when it comes to teaching facilities like books, classrooms and comfort rooms. Since the DepEd will add two more years in secondary degree, surely, most of the parents will complain because of financial problem. They can't even support their kids now, how much more if two more years in secondary degree? I can hear nothing but lamentation about this.
One also of the problem of our country at this time was the fish kill happened in Batangas and Pangasinan. I want you sir to please solve this problem as soon as possible because many people will be affected.
Crisis, global warming, graft and corruption and population, these are some of the problems we are facing and we must solve it.we must help each other so that our country become progress.
I hope sir that you will grant my concern about the lackness of teaching facilities.
